Crazy Over Crochet
A storefront for one-of-a-kind handmade crochet, built so the maker runs it herself. Every piece is made once, named, and photographed again once it reaches its new home.

my mom crochets. she is very good at it, and every piece takes her days.
the obvious move is an etsy listing. the problem is that a marketplace flattens exactly what makes her work worth buying: each piece is made once, it takes as long as it takes, and there is no second identical unit sitting in a warehouse. a generic store makes that look like a bug.
so this is a small shop that treats it as the point. every piece is one of one and gets a name, not an sku. loki the trickster. big miffy, the cloud. cat-paw mittens. you don't check out instantly, you send a request, because a thing that takes a week to make deserves a conversation first.
the part i think about most is the studio. it's a login-gated admin where she adds a piece and its photos herself. if a project needs me to deploy every time she finishes something, i've built her a dependency, not a shop.
and there's a homes page: pieces photographed again once they've been sent, in the places they ended up. that's the actual reward loop for someone who makes things by hand.
